COMUNE DI RIMASCO (VC)

La strada si inoltra sinuosa, scoprendo dietro ad ogni curva un nuovo paesaggio. Attraversiamo il piccolo borgo di Molino fino ad arrivare all'oratorio di S. Giovanni Battista.
Un ciclo di affreschi sulla vita del santo decora l'abside mentre sulle pareti sono raffigurati i santi Fabiano e Cristoforo; l'insieme delle opere risale al XVI sec.
La strada diventa carrettata entrando in Ferrante e ci porta al cospetto della scenografica facciata della Parrocchiale dedicata all'Assunta.
La sua origine pare risalga ad un evento miracoloso riguardante un quadro dell'Assunta, protetto da un'inferriata ed inserito in un'edicola fatta erigere poco fuori l'abitato a protezione dei viandanti.
Per ben due volte e con l'inferriata intatta, il quadro venne ritrovato sul pianoro dove fu eretta la Chiesa. A ciò pare si debba il nome di "Ferrate".

Following the winding road, we discover at each curve a new landscape. We cross the small village of Molino till arrive to the Oratory of St. John the Baptist.
A cycle of frescoes upon the life of the saint decorate the apse, meanwhile on the walls are painted the Saint Fabian and Cristoforo, the whole work dated XVI century.
The road become track enterring in Ferrante and take us at the scenographic façade of the parish dedicated to Our Lady Assunta.
Its origin seems to go back to a miracolous event as regards the painting of Assunta, protected by an iron gate and inside a nicht built out of the inhabited to protect walkers.
For two times and with the iron gate intact the painting was found on the plain where was built the church. For this reason the village was called "Ferrate"
